Thanks for joining me here at The Homme Life. I’m Kelly and I wanted to take a moment to share a little bit about myself and this blog. I am a busy mom of two that loves anything and everything home decor, traveling and all things lifestyle. I know I am not the only one, but I am always trying to find the balance between being a good mom, a good wife and being true to myself. \u00a0I’ve been married for over 17 years and I won’t tell you how many years we were together before that because then I will sound even older. Let’s just say I married my high school sweetheart. We could not be more opposite in a lot of ways but we have always shared a desire to make each house we have ever lived in feel like a home.<\/span><\/p>\n

Actually, I am going to share my age because I think it has a lot to do with why I started this blog. I recently turned 40, yep…that was a fun number……NOT. Turning 40 reminded me that you don’t have forever to start getting things done. That of course meant lots of lists and goal setting and it also helped give me a swift kick to get this blog thing rolling after years of thinking about it. I’ve been really blessed to do quite a bit of traveling in my adult life and also have the blessing of being a stay at home mom. No matter what ages my kids were, or what phase of life we were in, I always wanted to make our house feel like home. The things that make our houses feel like homes are unique to each of us. For me, home is the place you should miss when you’re gone and appreciate when you return.<\/span><\/p>\n

Does it have to be decorated <\/span>in the latest design trends and be spotless all the time? No way! \u00a0Ask my family…. they will agree if those are the rules then I am screwed. \u00a0One thing about getting older is accepting things. I have come to accept that my house may be a mess more than I wish and that I will probably always have a list of projects needing to be done. But you know what? \u00a0It is what it is. Cheesy or not, life DOES get busy and life DOES go by quickly. So I am going to keep enjoying the family trips we take together, and the time I get to spend with my peeps in the spaces we created in our house that reflect the things we love. I’m sure you have probably figured out by now that I am NOT a writer. I can promise you that I will never claim nor try to be. But if you enjoy traveling or watching homes during the remodeling process,\u00a0please stick around. \u00a0We have lots of exciting projects in the works and some super fun vacations to share!<\/span><\/p>\n
