Most of you know that we recently finished remodeling our home. One thing we added during the remodel were picture ledges. I had been wanting these forever but I wasn’t sure where I wanted to put them and could never find any premade ones that were long enough.
Once we started getting further along in the remodel and could visualize where everything was going to go, my hubby suggested putting the ledges in our breakfast room. I am so glad we decided on this spot because I love having our family photos in the breakfast area and they’re right outside our master, so I get to see them every day 🙂Â
We gave our carpenter the specifications we wanted and he made them for us but you can easily make these with just a few materials. We wanted ours deep enough to layer frames and long enough for our breakfast wall.Â
For each ledge, we used 2 (1×4’s) and 1 (1×2)
You can find a tutorial here on how to make your own. Please note, the tutorial uses different dimensions of wood than I used, but you can adjust the sizes to your preference.Â
Here’s a side angle, so you can get an idea of how the edges look.Â
I am so happy with these and love that I can easily swap the photos out and move the frames around. Our frames are all from Ikea and can be found here.Â
